ACAD’s Kendall Hermann Commits to Indiana University for 2017

Kendall Hermann, of Frankfort, Illinois, has committed to become a Hoosier in the fall of 2017. A rising senior at Lincoln Way East High School, Hermann trains year round with the Academy Bullets Swim Club at their Romeoville location. Hermann excels in backstroke and butterfly and is rapidly improving in freestyle events. As a freshman at Lincoln Way East she competed in the Illinois State Girls’ meet in the 100 fly and 200 IM.

Hermann finished 8th in the 100m back at last summer’s NCSA Summer Championships. At the 2016 NSCA Spring Championships in March, she finished 16th in the 200 back, 21st in the 100 back and 32nd in the 100 fly. Last month, her 100 meter back time of 1:03.72 left her just .33 short of qualifying for U.S. Olympic Trials.

Over the last two seasons Herman has taken 5 seconds off her 200 free and nearly 4 off her 100 free. She has also improved by 4.4 seconds in the 200 fly, 2.3 in the 100 fly, and 1.3 in the 100 back.

Hermann’s best times include:

  SCY LCM
50 back 25.72 30.23
100 back 55.23 1:03.72
200 back 1:58.44 2:17.95

56 to a 52 100 free is a huge drop! Hopefully she can break 50 this season.
