Totally agree with everybody. Lauren is an excellent swimmer but the title is “Swimmer of the meet”: are you going with the swimmer who is excellent and has a reputation or are you going with the swimmer who had the BETTER meet! It’s a shame. Clearly Oliver deserved it this time.

TOTAL SNUB by the people who chose awards. Perdue did not deserve this. She won one individual event…Oliver won 2. That’s not to say Perdue didn’t have a great meet. It just wasn’t as good as Oliver’s.

Besides winning the 50Free and 100Free events Tiffany Oliver swam on 4 relays and had excellent splits on all of these relays!

previous comment didn’t come out right. what i meant was that she got more consideration because virginia won and her reputation. She had a great meet without a doubt but others were at least as good.

Im a big fan of Perdue’s but I think Oliver should have gotten swimmer of the meet. She beat her straight up in 2/3 events and held her off in that 400 free relay with a terrific split.
others were as least as good. Cari blalock won 2 in times close to records, Heather Savage won in record time and was huge on 2 winning relays, Courtney Bartholmew won 2. She won because she was from virginia and an olympian not her performance

agreed
UNC won the 400 fr, not Fla State. The difference might have been no high showing in a third event. Both athletes had a great meet.
