Adele Zyniewicz Torches 10 & Under 50 Free NAG Record at IN Champs

10-year-old Adele Zyniewicz, unattached, broke the 10 & under NAG record in the 50m free yesterday afternoon at the Indiana SwimFest LC Championships at IUPUI with a 28.37.

Meet results

The old record was a 28.58 by Phoenix Swim Club’s Miriam Sheehan, who still holds four other NAG records in the 10 & under category. Zyniewicz took more than two whole tenths off of that mark with her swim today.

Previously, Zyniewicz’s best was a 29.29 from mid-June. This weekend in the 10 & under category, she also won the 50 fly (31.59), 100 fly (1:11.08), 100 free (1:02.67), 200 free (2:23.70) and 50 back (33.24), breaking Indiana age group records in all of the preceding events save for the 200 free.

Zyniewicz is less than a second off of Claire Tuggle‘s 100 free NAG, a 1:01.81. She’s also just over a second off of Sheehan’s 32.18 50 back NAG, and her 50 free time in yards (25.66) from March is within a second of the SCY NAG. It’s unclear how much longer she has before she ages up into the 11-12 age group, but with the rapid rates of improvement (she went all best times this weekend, plus lopped off 2.23 seconds in her 50 fly and 3.34 seconds in her 100 free after posting new lifetime bests just last month) she’s experienced, Zyniewicz could be barreling towards more national marks.

I watched her swim this weekend. Smooth and strong strokes, but most of all, she was having fun! Hopefully she will be at megazones in a couple weeks to see her set more NAG’s.

I’ve heard her before.
I think she’s going to be America’s greatest ever female sprinter.
She has the talent.

He didn’t even say any of that besides that he hasn’t heard of her, all he did was congratulate her. No need to mock some of his older posts

Adele is a swimmer with the Michiana YMCA Stingrays. We are not a USA team. We are a very strong Indiana YMCA team. We had several other swimmer at that meet as well. If you look up the result from the YMCA Great Lake Zones Meet you will see she as well has her team mates swim very well there.
