After a day of rest on day two of the Irish National Championships Sycerika McMahon picked up right where she left off. After winning five events on day one McMahon added three more national titles in the 400 IM (4:47.80), 200 freestyle (1:59.63) and set a new Irish National record 200 breaststroke (2:25.23)
Brendan Hyland who earlier in the meet broke both the Junior and Senior National records in the 200 butterfly won the 400 IM in a new Irish Junior National record time of 4:20.43.
Brendan Gibbons broke one Junior National record on each day of the competition. On day one he broke the 400 freestyle record, on day two he broke the 1500 freestyle record and on day three he broke the 800 freestyle record winning the event in a time of 8:11.00.
And last but not least Shauna O’Brien set a new Irish Senior record in the 50 butterfly posting a time of 27.30, which surpassed the previous record of 27.40 set by Julie Douglas in 2004.
