The Air Force women’s swimming & diving team is set to host its second straight home event this weekend, as Colorado Mesa, Colorado School of Mines and Colorado State-Pueblo visit Cadet Natatorium on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m.
Last week against New Mexico and Nebraska-Omaha, the Falcons opened the meet with a first place finish in the 200 medley relay thanks to the team of Emma Strom, Mollie Bushelman, Elise Hart and Lydia Knutson. In the 100 back, Air Force claimed three of the top four spots as Hart, Lexie Duchene and Strom took second through fourth, respectively. To end the meet, the Falcons took another first place finish in a relay, this one being the 400 free relay with the team of Jinan Andrews, Winifred Chen, Tianna Jorgenson and Knutson. Andrews had another good outing for the Falcons, earning a second place finish (100 free), a third place finish (200 free) and a fourth place finish (50 free). Jayden Glover made some nice contributions as well, placing second in the 1000 free and the 500 free, while earning a fifth place finish in the 200 fly.
Air Force saw a good outing in the diving events, as Kayla Wofford led the squad in the 3-meter with a second place finish and the Falcons took three of the top four spots in the 1-meter with Eve Fowler placing second, Rebecca Hetrick taking third and Bella Farrell finishing fourth.
Along with the women this weekend, the Falcon men’s team will also be competing against the same three teams during the meet. Admission to all home swimming & diving events is free of charge.
