2008 Olympic gold medalist and former world record-holder Alain Bernard, who will be inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in August, will be on hand to meet age-group swimmers and help introduce the MP brand to the members of the Vanves Swim Team on Friday. Co-sponsored by MP Michael Phelps France, Aqua Sphere France, the Vanves Swim Team, and the city of Vanves, with media partner Le 10 Sport, the event will be produced by SPL Event.
Bernard is known for his accessibility to age-group swimmers, who look up (literally, he’s 6’5”) to the Olympic champion. It will be the younger members of the Vanves Swim Team who will have the chance to work with Bernard for an hour and a half on Friday afternoon and get a sneak peek at items from the new MP line.
The president of the club Stade de Vanves Natation, Lazreg Benelhadj, said, “It’s a special visit for the club and for our young swimmers who range in age from 6 to 15. To be able to interact with an Olympic champion, it’s not everyone who gets that chance. We will enjoy this moment to the fullest.”
The general public will also be invited to the event, which will double as an opportunity for MP Michael Phelps France and Aqua Sphere France to present its latest collection, a couple of months before it will be distributed throughout France.
Holy surrender monkey
Alain Bernard? Who stands 6 feet 5 and can absolutely fly?
Hicks: — but Lezak is closing a little bit on Bernard! Can the veteran chase him down and pull off a shocker here?!
Gaines: Well there’s no doubt that he’s tightening it up!
Hicks: Bernard is losing some ground!!
Here comes Lezak! Unbelievable at the end! The US has done it!!!
I wonder what freeswim211 would say about that
Bernard didn’t choke in that race. He still split 46 mid. But he allowed Lezak to transcend space/time with his draft/mouth
