Alexander Lewis from the Greenwich YWCA Dolphins Swim Team in Connecticut has verbally committed to swim for the Princeton Tigers, pending the completion of the admissions process, which gives them a versatile speed threat for the next four years.
“I am really excited about the opportunity I have to attend such a great school and swim for Rob Orr and Mitch Dalton,” Lewis said of his future coaches.
Lewis has bests of:
- 50 yard free – 20.90
- 100 yard free – 45.59
- 100 yard back – 49.88
- 200 yard back – 1:49.39
- 100 yard fly – 49.86
The Princeton men are the five-time Ivy League Champions, and after graduating a class that was perfect in their careers in the summer of 2012, a notably younger group won the 5th of those titles last year. In other words: Princeton has been able to get their team up to speed in a hurry.
Lewis will be no exception, and Princeton will be hoping to get at least a few NCAA points from him as a freshman, with a significant impact likely coming by the time he’s a sophomore in the 2015-2016 season.
Lewis swims under Nick Cavarato at the Greenwich Y, as well as at Greenwich High School.
