ROSEMONT, Ill. – Ohio State claimed the 2022 Big Ten Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship on Saturday at the University of Wisconsin’s Soderholm Family Aquatic Center in Madison. The Buckeyes earned their third straight Big Ten Conference title and eighth overall.
Ohio State totaled 1,303 points through the four-day competition, followed by Michigan (1,185), Indiana (1,100), Wisconsin (1085) and Northwestern (919.5).
The Buckeyes won six events during the meet — the 200 medley relay (Emily Crane, Hannah Bach, Katherine Zenick, Teresa Ivan – 1:34.46), the 800 freestyle relay (Amy Fulmer, Paige Hall, Kristen Romano, Katherine Trace – 6:58.17), the 200-yard individual medley (Romano – 1:54.43), the 400 medley relay (Crane, Bach, Zenick, Fulmer – 3:26.35), the 200 freestyle (Fulmer – 1:43.73), and the 100-yard breaststroke (Hannah Bach – 57.61).
Ohio State Director of Swimming and Diving Bill Dorenkott earned his sixth Big Ten Championship, having claimed three prior titles as the head coach at Penn State.
Michigan senior Maggie MacNeil was named Swimmer of the Championships for the third straight season, Minnesota senior Sarah Bacon was tabbed as Diver of the Championships, and Indiana’s Anna Peplowski secured Freshman of the Year honors.
