Amazing Video of Killer Whales Surfing Behind Boat

Rich and Laura Howard of OceansofImages.com were in La Paz, Mexico celebrating their 20th Wedding Anniversary when nearly 20 killer whales began swimming behind their boat, swimming like we’ve seen dolphins do so many times. Apparently their boat was small, a dive boat, but they clearly weren’t scared as you can see from the video.

If you’re a swimmer, and you’ve ever swum with dolpins, you’ve probably marveled at their speed and wished you could feel, even for a few seconds, how much power they can generate. This video takes that feeling to a whole new level…. If you have an amazing video of anything swimming, please share with swimswam, and we will publish. Share you Twitter handle as well, and we will tag you when the post goes live.

Rich & Laura Howard celebrated their 20th Wedding Anniversary in La Paz Mexico at Costa Baja Resort/Spa. Their dive with the friendly resident sea lion colony was interrupted when whales dropped by. Watch the amazing video as these whales play “like dolphins” in the wake of their boat. Check out www.oceansofimages.com for more images and video of these Killer Whales / Orcas. Enjoy & excuse all the screaming.. we were blessed & so lucky to witness these “large dolphins” at play!

Their speed blows my mind. Killer whales are much bigger than regular dolphins. To have that speed with that size…amazing.
