Emory’s Andrew Wilson has been on fire this weekend. From a 51.2 split on the Eagles’ runner up 400 medley relay to his NCAA record victory in the 200 IM, Wilson can do no wrong. And today’s breaststroke just highlights his specialty.
Wilson was out half a second faster than the next closest person and came home over a second quicker than anyone else in the field for a time just about two seconds ahead of anyone…in a 100 breast.
For reference, a 52.59 would put Wilson 19th going into the Men’s Division 1 meet.

I go to a school where there is autism. But that does not stop me. I like to swim. My favorite stroke is breastroke. When I see Andrew Wilson broke the 100 breast record I was happy. I want to swim that fast one time. Always keep trying 🙂
Wow! Between this, two guys going 4:20 in the 500, a couple 1:46’s in the 200 IM, 3 going sub :20 in the 50 and a sub :47 fly (with what looks like a sub :47 back on the way) – D3 swimming continues to get faster and deeper at an amazing rate.
Crazy that a D3 record would only seed him 19th at the D1 level.
