In the semifinals of the women’s 50 free, Anya Goeders of the Mako Swim Team in Indiana swam a big new best time of 25.16, which now ranks her third all-time for the 15-16 age group.
Women’s 50 Free 15-16 All-Time Rankings
- Simone Manuel, 24.80
- Marta Ciesla, 25.07
- Anya Goeders, 25.16
- Missy Franklin, 25.26
- Abbey Weitzeil, 25.27
Goeders was previously ranked 8th on this list with a 25.44 from before the meet. She jumped Missy Franklin and Abbey Weitzeil on this list– Weitzeil was the top qualifier into the 50 free final with her 24.34 from tonight.
Goeders finished 9th in this event overall after semifinals, just missing a spot in the final. You’ve probably seen her before, as something about her stands out– she doesn’t wear a knee skin racing suit.
She’s still 15, meaning she has over a year before she ages up out of the 15-16 age group. Goeders was only 25.53 in prelims, and just snuck into semis with a 16th place finish (though Kelsi Worrell ultimately scratched the semifinals and Goeders moved through in 15th).
Hswimmer, Paris 2024 😉
She’s the future of American women sprinter!

a phenomenal swim!
I wondered why the gal in lane 8 had no techsuit.
#myskinisfast
Can not locate a tech suit that fits her body properly. Size that fits her body top, too tight on legs. Size that fits legs,
too large on body top.
2020 could be in her favor or 2024 hopefully in Los Angeles;)
2020 maybe too soon, but if she continues to develop, definitely 2024 LA!
In Indiana..high school swimming is a beast! She needs to swim HS.
High school swimming where she lives is coached by people who are not knowledgeable about the development of swimmers. This is the reason why she sticks to her coach in her swim club. Obviously smart choice from her side.
Yeah coach J-Rod!!! Nice swim Anya!
