April 15th Marks Opening of Regular Signing Period for High School Seniors

The vast, vast majority of swimming’s top-tier domestic recruits have already made their decisions in the fall “early” signing period, and we’re already into the class of 2016’s verbal commitments, with a handful of high school juniors already making their decisions.

If you have a verbal commitment to report, please send it to [email protected]

There’s still a piece of the recruiting puzzle left to fall into place  this spring, however, and that’s the regular signing period which opens on Wednesday. For those swimmers who didn’t sign in the one-week fall “early signing period” to pledge their commitment to a college program, now will be their remaining opportunity to do so. Remember that letters are only officially signed by those athletes who receive athletic aid (scholarships), though others may sign ceremonially or symbolically to affirm their intent to “walk-on” to a team as a non-scholarship athlete.

The final signing date for 2015 is August 1st.

While a majority of the nationally-known names have made their decisions, there are still a handful of impact recruits available, especially for athletes who may have hit a growth-spurt or made significant time advances as a senior.

The spring period also typically sees a rush of international swimmers signing, due to either being later to make a decision to come to the United States, or due to altered school cycles that have many ending their academic years in December rather than in May or June.

While we can not assure that all of these athletes are signing true National Letters of Intent, here’s a selection of verbal commitments that have happened in early 2015, as reported to us:
