Aquasphere Welcomes World Champion Swimmer Ben Proud to the Team

Aquasphere, the premier swimming brand, today announced World Champion swimmer Ben Proud is joining Team Aquasphere as a member of its new Elite Athlete Squad. As part of the new partnership, Proud will endorse Aquasphere’s industry-leading line of competitive swimming eyewear.

A World Champion swimmer who holds two British national records, Proud will train and compete utilizing the high-performance XCEED goggle and will also contribute his unique perspective and insight to future product innovations Aquasphere currently has in development. Proud is the first competitive swimmer to join Aquasphere’s team of world-class athletes in 2022 which currently includes World Champion triathletes Timothy O’Donnell and Mirinda “Rinny” Carfrae.

Proud is a World Champion sprinter and recently added World Short Course champion to his list of career achievements after a stunning victory in the Men’s 50m Freestyle at the 2021 FINA World Swimming Championships in Abu Dhabi.  Currently training at Bath University, Proud has dominated the British 50m sprinting for more than many years, breaking onto the world stage back in 2014 at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with Gold in the 50m freestyle and 50m Butterfly. He cames 4th in the 2016 Rio Olympics Games in the 50m freestyle and became World Champion in the 50m Butterfly in 2017 in Budapest and at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, Proud won a gold medal in the 50m freestyle and silver in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay and 4x100m medley relay and Ben has been an integral part of the Energy Standard club team who have come champions twice in the last three International Swimming League (ISL) competitions.
