Arena publicly debuted its new POWERSKIN Carbon Flex racing suit at the Arena Grand Prix Orlando tonight, placing swimmers on the podium in every swim. Katinka Hozzu (2 gold), Laura Sogar (1 silver), Claire Donahue (1 bronze) and Caitlin Leverenz (1 bronze) raced in the new suit, finishing with a combined five medals.
“I felt great in the Carbon Flex tonight,” said 2013 NCAA breaststroke champion Sogar.“I always feel good in Carbon technology because I appreciate the support it provides, but for me, I really enjoyed the flexibility across my hips, especially on the kick. I know a lot of people love the Carbon Pro, and that’s a great suit too, but for my body and my stroke, the Flex is the one for me.”
The Carbon Flex is the first product in the Arena family to use the patented V-Flex System.
This system includes taped and bonded external rear seams to provide maximum range of motion and freedom of movement around the hips, glutes and shoulders. Anatomically placed anchor points and high-strength elastic tapes create tension lines along the back of the upper legs that provide a lifting effect, helping swimmers improve body position and alleviate drag and resistance from fatigued legs.
While offering the above differences, the Flex, like all products in the POWERSKIN Carbon Series feature the following benefits:
Carbon Cage: Arena’s Carbon Series features the world’s first technical racing suits with high-strength carbon fiber woven into a lightweight high-stretch nylon fabric.
Intelligent Compression: The Carbon Cage technology locks down when and where a critical stress level is reached, maximizing compression on over-extended zones when and where needed, while retaining elasticity and freedom of movement.
Power Return System: Strategic placement of bonded seams and internal elastic taping stores potential energy and releases this energy in dives, kicks, and turns to maximize efficiency, power, and speed.
Available in blue/black and red/black, the Flex will be commercially available at authorized Arena dealers and online this March. Visit www.arenausa.com or www.facebook.com/arenausa for details.
