The Conference office announced today that Nora Deleske of ARIZONA STATE was named Pac-12 Women’s Swimmer of the Week and her teammate Ashley McCool was voted Pac-12 Women’s Diver of the Week.
WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Nora Deleske, FR, Arizona State (Huntington Beach, Calif.)
Deleske’s 200-yard butterfly was part of the turning point for the Sun Devils who won 9-of-12 individual swim events, including seven straight, to defeat No. 22 Arizona for the first time since 1993. She also helped the Sun Devils’ the 200-yard medley relay, setting the pace for the meet and the win. She also took second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:14.99) and fourth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:05.76).
WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Ashley McCool, FR, Arizona State (Cochrane, Alberta, Canada)
The school record holder in the 3-meter, Ashley McCool, won both events in the ASU women’s upset of No. 22 Arizona. The freshman diver won the 1-meter with a score of 324.00 and the 3-meter with a score of 358.28.
The Pac-12 Women’s Swimming and Diving/Men’s Diving and Championships (Feb. 21-24) and the Pac-12 Men’s Swimming Championships (Feb. 28-Mar. 3) will be held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
