Army West Point Hires Nicki Stanley as New Assistant Coach

Army West Point has added to their women’s program staff with the hiring of West Virginia native Nicki Stanley. Stanley will serve as an assistant coach to the Black Knight program.

“I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Nicki Stanley into the Army swimming and diving family,” said Wender. “Nicki has a wealth and variety of experiences that make her uniquely qualified to join our staff. As a former head coach, she has a great understanding of what it takes to create a successful program. She has also been mentored by some of the best in the business.”

Stanley most recently served as an assistant at Ohio Wesleyan University, moving there after head coaching at the College of St. Mary in Nebraska for two seasons. Notably, the Flames of St. Mary ranked 2nd nationally across all three NCAA divisions in terms of team GPA average. Prior to her stint at St. Mary, she coached at Wheeling Jesuit University, helping coach the men’s program to two Appalachian Swimming Conference titles. Her time at Wheeling Jesuit earned her a spot on the ASC Coaching Staff of the Year.

Stanley graduated from Fairmont University in 2009, and swam on their team all four years of her collegiate career. She served as team captain from 2006 to 2008.

At Army, Stanley will serve as an assistant for the women’s team under head coach Mickey Wender and associate head coach Eric Bugby.
