ASL’s Ellen Johnson Signs NLI to Swim for American University

“I chose American because of the amazing combination of strong athletics and academics as well as a great coaching staff and team. Go Eagles!!!!”

Ellen Johnson, a senior at Greenbrier High School in Evans, Georgia, has signed a National Letter of Intent to swim for American University in Washington, D.C. Johnson was a two-time finalist (50 free and 100 back) at the GHSA 6-7 A State Swimming & Diving Meet in February. She also anchored both Greenbrier’s freestyle relays.

Johnson swims year-round for Aiken-Augusta Swim League. “Ellen has been one of our great senior swimmers with ASL for many years. She has represented ASL extremely well over the years with great success both in the pool and academically. I, along with the rest of the ASL coaching staff and team, are very proud of her accomplishments and know that she will represent ASL to the highest level while attending American University,” says ASL Program Director, Adam Sasso. “ASL would like to congratulate Ellen Johnson and wish her well with her college swimming career. Go Silverkings!”

  • 50 free – 24.48
  • 100 free – 53.77
  • 200 free – 1:57.06
  • 50 back – 28.50
  • 100 back – 58.86
  • 200 back – 2:08.84
