Atkinson wins 100 IM at Dubai World Cup – Race Video

Women’s 100 IM – Dubai World Cup – as reported by SwimSwim contributor Jeff Grace

Just when you thought she didn’t have another trick up her sleeve Alia Atkinson pulled off another surprise win, this time over Katinka Hosszu in the 100 IM. Atkinson hit the wall first posting a time of 58.45 preventing Hosszu from collecting her third gold of the evening.

Hosszu finished second in a time of 58.55 followed by Emily Seebohm who finished third in a time of 59.23.

I don’t know her, just of her, so why are my eyes welling up with tears of joy?
She earned every stoke and every red cent that comes with the win.
Now she can erase all doubts knowing she has everything it takes to be and continue to be the Winner we all knew she was from the time we saw her in the Olympics.
My heart, my Heart, MY HEART is with this woman!
