Austria came away medal-less at the 2017 edition of the FINA World Aquatics Championships after having sent 1 diver, 1 open water swimmer, 3 artistic swimmers and 4 swimmers. Aubock finished the highest of any Austrian aquatic athlete in Budapest, claiming 5th place in both the men’s 400m free and 800m free individual events.
However, currently, its Austrian national record holder Caroline Pilhatsch who appears on the current season world rankings, holding the #10 slot in the women’s 50m back (27.85).
I wonder what body part he would give to win at world championships.
Hope he does well!
Auboeck was the fastest man in the 400m Prelims at Worlds in 2017. He’s raced fairly well, under the radar in Indianapolis last month. He just has this way, as he has in a pair of tremendous NCAA 1650’s, to peak at a very high level. He has one year left at Michigan, but I’m curious how he’s approaching the Olympic year.
The thing he did finishing the 1650 in a 1:37 from push is just outrageous to me and speaks to how good he can be when he finds his rhythm. You knew how ridiculous it was when it blew Connor Jaeger’s mind. Excited to see what he has in store with some rest.
Go Blue!
When he is on, he’s very dangerous
When he’s fast, he’s very speedy
