Many swimmers from the Chattahoochee Gold Swim Club based in Woodstock, GA participated in an intrasquad meet this past Saturday, the club’s first meet since the coronavirus pandemic cancelled competitions around the country.

Class of 2021 Auburn commit Grant Davis won all three of his events in route to several best times. In one of his main events, the 200 freestyle, Wyatt posted a 1:43.56 to win the event by almost 10 seconds. His best time in the event is a 1:40.09 posted last December at the Georgia Short Course Senior Meet.

Davis’ also swam two “off” events, the 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle, posting best times both times he hit the water. He began by cruising to a 54.10 in the 100 backstroke, which sliced .87 off of his previous best of 54.97. Then, in the 100 freestyle he threw down a 48.66 to slide .13 under his old personal best. Both of his previous best times were posted in November of last year.

Other highlights:

  • 14-year-old Elliot Elmore posted best times in all three of his events: the 100 breaststroke, 50 freestyle, and 100 butterfly, also winning the first two races. In the 100 breaststroke, he dropped over 2.5 seconds to finish in 1:04.81.
  • In the 100 backstroke, 16-year-old Elizabeth Tilt put up a 58.53 to come within a second of her personal best of 57.22.
