Nebraskans Grace Porter and Emma Miller have signed their NLIs to become members of Augustana University’s 2016-17 inaugural swim team. Located in Sioux Falls, SD, the women’s only program will enter its first year of competition under head coach Lindsie Micko as a NCAA Division II institution participating in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Grace Porter trains at Swim Omaha and credits her family of swimmers for introducing her to the sport at six years old. She is a multiple-time finalist at the Nebraska State Championships for Westside High School. Her freestyle ability will be appreciated by the Vikings as they launch their program next fall.
“I chose my school because it felt like home and it isn’t that far away from where I live now. The academics are great and their campus is beautiful. They are starting a new swimming program and I thought it would be great to help start something new.”
