Austin Crump from RallySport Aquatic Club in Boulder, Colorado has committed to University of the Pacific for 2017-2018. “I chose the University of Pacific because I really liked the supportive coaching staff and how well the team bonded with each other! I’m both honored and blessed to continue my athletic and academic career at a prestigious school like the University of Pacific! Go Tigers!”
According to his mother, Misty Crump, “Crump swims mostly freestyle and butterfly. From his freshman year to his senior year he has seen a dramatic improvement in his times. At the Speedo LC Western Sectionals Championships, Crump received all personal bests in his events. He competed in the 50/100/200 free and 100/200 fly, making finals in all events.”
Crump is a senior at Broomfield High School. He swam the 100/200 free double at the 2016 CHSAA 5A Boys Swim & Dive State Championships last May. He finished fourth in the 200 free (1:49.69) and 10th in the 100 free (47.02). He also anchored the Broomfield 200 free relay; they finished 17th in prelims.
In club swimming Crump tends to specialize in short-end freestyle and butterfly events. He competed in the 50/100/200 free and 100/200 fly at Mount Hood Sectionals this past July. Crumps’ best SCY times:
