Three days in, or halfway through, to the 2013 FINA Junior World Championships in Dubai, UAE, there are two metrice by which to decide success.
The first is the pretty standard medal table.
That table demonstrates how this meet has gone thus far. The Australians are dominating the men’s side of the competition, thanks in large part to Mack Horton, and have won half (four of eight) of the gold medals thus far (Horton has three individually, and also anchored Australia’s winning 400 free relay, plus the mixed 400 medley in prelims, for a total of 5 gold medals already).
The American women, on the other hand, are taking the women’s side to task, with 4 golds and 4 silvers for 8 overall medals.
Carried largely by that women’s group, the Americans have the most total medals, but the Australians still stand on top of the table with five golds.
Below that, we’ve listed the team scoring for the meet, which awards 18 points for an event victory, down to 10 for an 8th place finish/

Mack Horton is putting the team on his back
Do prelim swimmers get medals as well? If so, I think Mack Horton would have 5 gold medals for his contributions to the mixed 4 x 100 free relay.
NickH – I suppose you’re right! I was focused on finals swimmers, but he was on that prelims. Will fix now.
