Austria Announces European Junior Team And YOG Nominees

The Austrian Swimming Federation announced the team of 18 athletes they will be sending to the European Junior Championships which will be held in Dordrecht from July 7th-14th. The team includes:

  • Caroline Pilhatsch
  • Sebastian Steffan 
  • Sara Rashid Taghipour
  • Filip Milcevic 
  • Hannah Malits
  • Luke Ambros 
  • Annabelle Schwaiger
  • Heiko Gigler 
  • Coni Rott
  • Sascha Subarsky 
  • Esther Uhl
  • Felix Auböck 
  • Julia Kukla
  • Dominik Hitzinger 
  • Denise Hollow
  • Patrick Staber 
  • Lena Opatril
  • Christoph Margotti

The Austrians have two junior swimmers ranked in the top five in Europe for their age group:

  • Sascha Subarsky – 4th – 100 butterfly
  • Felix Auböck – 5th – 400 freestyle

They also announced four athletes for the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing from August 16th-28th.

The athletes include:

  • Sascha Subarsky 
  • Sebastian Steffan 
  • Lena Kreund 
  • Claudia Hufnagl

Subarsky and Auböck are great talents. I just noticed a couple of days ago that Auböck is from austria and not from germany, because he swims for a german club and is in the german rankings:)
