Former Iowa Head Coach Glenn Patton Earns Hall of Fame Nod

Former University of Iowa men’s swimming coach Glenn Patton will be inducted into the Alfred State Athletics Hall of Fame tonight in Alfred, N.Y. The induction is the second for Patton, as he was named to the National Iowa Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 2009.

Olympic Champion Megan Jendrick Retires

Megan Jendrick, one of the United States’ most beloved Olympians, has officially retired. She won two gold medals at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney; in the 100 breaststroke and as a member of the women’s 4×100 medley relay. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing Jendrick netted a third Olympic medal, a silver.

The Raleigh Swim Across America Event Is This Weekend

For Team YOTA, Anil Chintapalli has raised the most amount of money for his team at $1,250.00. He is swimming in the relay for swim across America in honor of his grandmother who is fighting the battle with bile duct cancer and in memory of his grandfather. He loves to swim because it is lots of fun, and he has wanted to swim on YOTA since he was about four taking lessons at the Cary YMCA and doing the YOTA stroke school.
