If there’s one upside of this global quarantine that is keeping us all locked up in our homes, it’s that people around the world are getting the opportunity to explore and display other creative interests and talents. At some point, ‘consuming’ gets old, and people start ‘creating.’

This Murphy family collaboration features Chattahoochee Gold head coach and owner Pat Murphy on video and editing; his wife Beth Murphy the head site coach of Chattahoochee Gold’s Woodstock Aquatic Center on the puppet; and their daughter Myka, an opera singer who just graduated from the famed Julliard School in New York.

To the tune of “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid movie.

Lyrics:

I wanna be where the swimmers are
I wanna see wanna see ’em splashing
Kicking around with those (what do you call ’em?)
Oh, fins

Locked in my house, I can’t get too far
Water’s required for swimming, splashing
Thinkin’ bout but I know, the odds are…slim

Out where they splash, out where they swim
Where my heart is filled to the brim
I was free, I want to be, back at the pool

What would I give, if I could swim, back in these waters?
What would I pay, to spend the day, back at the pool?
This online school, just makes me drool
Day dreamin’ bout bein’ in water
All us children, tired of Zoomin’, and ready to play

I’d love to do what the swimmers do
Put down this pencil and pick up goggles
Never thought that I’d actually miss the outside

I know we need this quarantine
but the minutes I am counting
Til I can sing, laugh and be free
With friends at the pool
