Balancing backstroke, broadcast, and being Beisel

She’s a two time US Olympian, two time Olympic Medalist, NCAA Champion, and the best interview in swimming. Elizabeth Beisel admits that returning to college swimming after London was not easy. She struggled to find motivation in the water until her mid-season meet at Ohio State where she dropped some monster times in the middle of heavy training including a PR in the 500 free, and a 4:00 in the 400 IM.

In this interview with Garrett McCaffrey Beisel talks about her experience in London (including her thoughts about Ye Shiwen), adjusting back to college life, goals for championship season, and even a recent story she did in journalism school about cutting wrestling out of the Olympics. She’s honest, articulate, intelligent and energetic. It’s always worth the time to hear what Elizabeth Beisel has to say.
