Barbora Seemanova of Czech Republic continues to break National Records as she swam to a 53.50 en route to a European Title in the women’s 100 freestyle. That broke her previous national record of a 53.68 that she swam in semifinals at the 2021 European Championships.

Seemanova was out fast tonight in a 25.68 and was able to hold on on the way home. She led the whole way as she flipped in the lead at the 50 mark.
In addition to setting a new national record, Seemanova got under the Paris Olympic Qualifying Standard that stands at a 53.61.
Seemanova has been on fire recently as this marks her fourth national record in the last month. At the end of May, she set new national records in the 200 free, 400 free, and 200 IM while at the AP Race London Invitational.
This summer’s Olympic Games will mark her 3rd Olympics. In Tokyo, she finished 21st in the 100 free in a 53.98. Her highest finish came in the 200 free as she finaled finishing 6th. Her time from today ranks her as the #20 swimmer in the 100 freestyle in the World so far this season.
