On the third day of the 2021 Belarus Open, three national senior records and tw0 national junior records went down in Brest. Among the record-breakers was Alina Zmuhsko, first punching her ticket to Tokyo with a 1:07.01 morning prelims effort, just dipping under the 1:07.07 automatic cut and establishing a new Belarusian national record. Also in prelims, Angelina Malaschenko broke the national junior record at 1:09.92, breaking Anna Smolskaya‘s former record of 1:10.24.
Into finals, Zmushko re-affirmed her national record with a 1:06.62, now rankings No. 15 in the world this season behind Japanese teammates Kanako Watanabe (1:06.51) and Reona Aoki (1:06.56), both registered at the 2021 Japan Olympic Trials.
Also breaking a breaststroke national record in Brest was Ilya Shymanovich, nailing 26.46 in the prelims of the 50 breast to shave nine one-hundredths off his previous best. Shymanovich later won the event final at 26.89, staying under 27 seconds. Shymanovich is now the second-fastest swimmer in the world this season, only behind Italian Nicolo Martinenghi (26.39).

The third Belarusian national record came from Ivan Shamshurin, nabbing the 200 fly national record at 1:59.41. Winning the event was Russian Alexander Pribytok (1:57.49) and Ukrainian Igor Troyanovsky (1:58.25).
Picking up the second national junior record of the meet was Alesya Akinchits, winning the 400 free with a new standard of 4:18.70, dropping five seconds from prelims.
