Wabash senior Jack Belford earned North Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week honors for his efforts at the Indiana Intercollegiates Saturday at Purdue University.
Belford produced the highest individual finish for the Little Giants at the meet, placing third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:42.61. He also placed ninth in the 200 free by finishing in 1:45.93. Belford was part of the ninth-place Wabash 200 free relay team, joining David Johnson, Dakota Rhodes, and Joe Whitaker to record a time of 1:33.38.
Wabash finished third at the meet, its highest placing since in the history of the event. The Little Giants were the top Division III team, finishing behind Division I Purdue University and Division II’s University of Indianapolis.
