The German short course nationals will continue until Sunday and this meet is the qualification for the European Short Course Championships which will take place in Netanya, Israel, December 2 to 6.

Some German swimmers have announced already that they won’t compete in Netanya due to different reasons.  The focus is on the Olympic Games next year or they have safety concerns because of the terror attacks in Paris. Germany’s head coach Henning Lambertz is in contact with the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the situation will be observed constantly. Lambertz stated that at the moment the status is that a German team will attend the European SC Championships. Biedermann and Koch are among those who want to compete there.

On Saturday, the action continues with these prelims in the morning and finals in the afternoon: Women: 200 m butterfly, 50 m backstroke, 50 m breaststroke, 200 m IM, 200 m freestyle, 4 X 50 m medley relay. Men: 800 m freestyle, 200 m butterfly, 100 m IM, 100 m freestyle, 50 m breaststroke, 200 m backstroke, 4 X 50 m medley relay.
