EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern head coach Jimmy Tierney announced today the signing of six future Wildcats to National Letters of Intent. The incoming class will matriculate to Evanston in the fall of 2015.
With a strong young corps of freestyle swimmers currently in the program, the newest group of Wildcats comprises breaststrokers Lindsay Adamski (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) and Peyton Greenberg (Louisville, Ky./duPont Manual), butterflyer Alex Grimes (Los Gatos, Calif./Los Gatos), and backstroker Annika Kollevoll (McLean, Va./Bolles School) in addition to a pair of divers: Olivia Rosendahl (Los Angeles, Calif./Immaculate Heart) and Eryn Scannell (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc Community).
“We are thrilled to add this outstanding group of student-athletes to our current squad,” Tierney said. “Their excitement for Northwestern, abilities in the pool and dedication to the classroom will lead to immediate contributions in all aspects of our program. We cannot wait for them to arrive in Evanston!”
This class taps into recruiting pipelines that have long been successful for Tierney, head diving coach Alik Sarkisian and Northwestern. Arrowhead High School produced current prodigious NU sprinter Mary Warren and 2011 graduate Katie Eschenburg. duPont Manual in Louisville was the home of 2013 graduate Meredith King, who scored points at the Big Ten Championships in all four of her Wildcats’ seasons. Rosendahl’s club, the Trojan Dive Club, also produced Big Ten scorers Felicitas Lenz and Cosima Lenz. Rosendahl is widely considered to be the top diving prospect in the incoming class.
