Binghamton and Maine Capture Week 5 America East Awards

BOSTON – Four teams picked up wins this week. Binghamton’s men’s and women’s team defeated Canisius College, Maine’s Men’s team won their first meet of the season with a 174.5-95.5 win over Holy Cross and Vermont beat Stony Brook, 173-127. Nine teams are set to compete this week.

Here are the weekly awards:

Female Swimmer of the Week
Emma Blair, Maine – Sr., Free, Brunswick, ME

  • Captured two individual events, 50 free with a time of 24.17 and the 100 free with a time of 53.46.
  • Also was a part of the winning 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.
  • This Blair’s first career #AESD Swimmer of the Week award this season.

Co-Male Swimmer of the Week
Justin Meyn, Binghamton – Fr., Free, Brightwaters, NY

  • Won three individual events, 50 free (21.82), 100 free (47.72) and the 100 IM (53.53).
  • This is Meyn’s first career #AESD Swimmer of the Week award this season./

Co-Male Swimmer of the Week
Andy Sprague, Maine – Jr., Free, Wrentham, MA

  • Won two individual events, 50 free (21.36), 100 free (47.99).
  • Also was on the winning 200 medley relay with a time of 1:38.50.
  • This is Sprague’s first career #AESD Swimmer of the Week award this season.

Female Diver of the Week
PhilAnn Dixon, Maine – Soph., Diver, Wallingford, PA

  • Won the 3 meter event with a score of 230.70
  • Won the 1 meter event with a score of 265.35
  • This is Dixon’s first #AESD Diver of the Week award this season.

Male Diver of the Week
Chris Egan, Binghamton – Soph., Diver, Central Valley, NY

  • Won the 3 meter event with a score of 283.57
  • Won the 1 meter event with a score of 257.70
  • This is Egan’s first #AESD Diver of the Week award this season.
