Andrew Wilson is a 2021 Olympian, Olympic champion, and the first DIII swimmer to make the US Olympic team in history.

Andrew Wilson attended one of the nation’s finest boarding schools in Massachusetts where he swam and played water polo. His mother was a gymnast at Yale and his sister swam at Northwestern. He is a huge car fan and loves listening to Hoobastank. Wilson is studying physics and applied mathematics at Emory University.

College Swimming

2012-2013

Coming into college, Wilsons best time in the 100 breast was 59.4 and 1:59.9 in the 200 IM. At the 2013 UAA Championships Wilson went lifetime bests in everything he swam: 200 breast(2:02.51), 100 breast(56.25), 200 IM(1:53.34). Other than the fact that he crushed his previous lifetime bests, Wilson also qualified for NCAAs. At

2013 DIII NCAAs Wilson again dropped in all of his events, earning him 4th place in the 100 breast and 7th in the 200 breast.

2013-2014

Wilson started his Sophomore season out fast at the Miami Invitational where he earned best times in the 100 and 200 breast. At the 2014 UAA Championships Wilson placed 2nd in the 100 breast and 3rd in both the 200 breast and 200 IM. At 2014 DIII NCAAs Wilson dropped some huge time. He went a 1:58.54 in the 20o breast, 54.26 in the 100 breast, and 1:49.66 in the 200 IM. These times earned him two 2nd place and one 5th place finish at the meet.

2014-2015

Wilson came into his Junior season hungry for National titles. At the Miami Invitational, he swam best times in all of his events, improving school records in both of the breaststroke events. At the 2015 UAA Championships, Wilson won all the events he swam. The 2015 DIII NCAAs could not have gone better for Wilson. He set National records in every individual race he swam. He swam a 51.72 in the 100 breast and 1:52.97 in the 200 breast, times that would be extremely competitive at DI NCAAs. He also swam a 1:46.23 in the 200 IM and needless to say he won all of his events at Nationals.

2016-2017

After taking an Olympic redshirt year and just missing the Olympic team, Wilson capped off his senior year in similar fashion to the previous 3. He once again broke 3 National records at the 2017 DIII NCAA’s, taking titles in the 100 breast (50.94), 200 breast (1:50.80), and 200 IM (1:44.18).
