Asia Seidt

Asia Seidt is a competitive swimmer that represents the US internationally. As a high schooler, Seidt was ranked as the #19 high schooler nationally by SwimSwam. She verbally committed to swim for Kentucky on October 4, 2015.

College (Kentucky)

2016-2017

Seidt made an immediate impact for the Wildcats. At the 2017 SEC Championships, Seidt won the 200 back (1:50.22) as a freshman, while also placing 3rd in the 100 back (51.40) and 4th in the 200 IM (1:55.02). This performance gave her the honor of SEC Female Freshman of the Year. All-SEC First Team, and SEC All-Freshman Team. At her first NCAA Championships, Seidt placed 3rd in the 200 back (1:49.63, new school record). She also scored in the 100 back (12th, 51.59) and the 200 IM (8th, 1:55.19).

2017-2018

Throughout her sophomore year, Seidt continuing her improvement at UK. At the 2018 SEC Championships, she took 1st place in the 100 (50.86) and 200 (1:49.65) backstrokes, as well as 2nd place in the 200 IM (1:53.04). This put her on the First Team All-SEC. Following her stellar performance at SEC’s, she notched 2nd place in the 200 back (1:49.24) at the 2018 NCAA’s, while also finishing 7th in the 200 IM (1:53.78) and 9th in the 100 back (51.06).

2018-2019

Seidt continued her improvement curve, dropping a myriad of best times at the end of the season. At the SEC Championships, Seidt 3-peated her title in the 200 backstroke in 1:49.31, just .07 off of her own school record. She also placed 2nd in the 100 back and 9th in the 200 IM. At the 2019 NCAA Championships, Seidt finished 3rd in the 200 back with a personal best of 1:48.65. She also notched 5th place finishes in the 100 back (50.68, best time) and the 200 IM (1:53.54). She was also on the scoring 400 free, 800 free, and 400 medley relays for the Wildcats. Prior to the NCAA championships, Seidt was awarded the 2019 Women’s DI Elite 90 award. After the championships, it was announced that she was also the 2019 Arther Ashe Female Sports Scholar of the Year.

National/International Competition

2017 Phillips 66 National Championships

At the 2017 world champ trials, Seidt finished 3rd in the 200 back (2:08.99), just missing the worlds team but qualifying her for the World University Games.

2017 World University Games

At the 2017 WUG’s in Taipei, Seidt placed 4th in the 200 back (2:10.31).

2018 National Championships

In Irvine at the 2018 Summer Nats, Seidt placed 6th in the 200 back (2:09.20), 13th in the 100 back (1:00.73), and 9th in the 200 IM (2:12.30). For her finish in the 200 back, she earned a spot on the 2019 World University Games team.

2019 World University Games

At the 2019 WUG’s, Seidt once again swam the 200 back. She broke the meet record in the semi-finals, going a lifetime best of 2:08.81. In the finals, she was beat by her teammate Lisa Bratton, but earned silver behind her with another lifetime best (2:08.56).
