Brooklynn Snodgrass was born Apr. 19, 1994 to parents, Paul and Jackie Snodgrass. She was raised in Calgary, Alberta and is currently competing for Coach Ray Looze at the University of Indiana in Bloomington. The proud Canadian swam her age groups years at Cascade under former Canadian Olympic Coach, Dave Johnson. She left Cascade with 10 provincial records, and in 2009 she set the 13-14 girls age group record in the 100 short course meter backstroke. In September 2014 she was named the Alberta Female International Swimmer of the Year. Snodgrass is the second female in the history of Indiana to win a national title.

2012-2013
In her freshman year Snodgrass was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on three separate occasions and Big Ten Swimmer of the Week twice. She was voted 2013 Big Ten Freshman of the Year after winning Big Ten titles in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 800 free relay. After qualifying for the NCAA Championships, Snodgrass placed third in the 100 backstroke in 51.52, and seventh in the 200 backstroke in 1:52.12.

2013-2014
Snodgrass followed up her stellar freshman career at Indiana with a national title as a sophomore. The NCAA win in the 200 backstroke (1:50.52)  recorded her as the second IU female in history to win a national title, and she placed fourth in the 100 backstroke in 51.05. She was, once again, named the Big Ten Swimmer of the Year.

International Competition
With loads of success in NCAA swimming, Brooklynn Snodgrass has represented Canada everywhere from the Junior Team to its World University Games Team. As a young athlete Snodgrass made Canada’s World Junior Team in 2010 and competed at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships where she finaled in the 100 and 200 back as well as the 200 IM.

She swam at the 2013 World University Games, finishing fourth in the 400-meter medley relay, qualifying in the semifinals of the 100m backstroke, and she also swam the 50m backstroke. In 2014 she finished eighth in the 100m backstroke in 1:00.58 at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and finished third for a bronze medal in the 50m backstroke. At the Canadian Trials in April 2014, she qualified for the Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacific Championships after swimming a school record time in the 100 backstroke.
