Carson Sand was destined for swimming success under the guidance of his father and lifelong coach, Mark Sand. From an early age, swimming has played a large role in Sand’s life and it has taken him to the University of California, Berkeley where he is a breaststroke specialist. He chose to stay close to home after growing up in Northern California and training under his father for the East Bay Aquatics Association.

At Berkeley, Sand intends to major in Political Science. Outside the pool, his hobbies include music and is in a band, Sather Lane, along with Cal teammate Andrew Seliskar.
