High School
Weiss first made headlines when she broke Olympic Champion Lilly King’s Indiana high school state record as a sophomore, registering a 59.37 to go under King’s 59.63. That summer (2017), heading into her junior season, Weiss verbally committed to study and swim at the University of Indiana.
At the 2018 Indiana state meet, Weiss broke her own state record in prelims (59.25) and proceeded to break the national high school record in finals, clocking a 58.40. Weiss ended her high school career with a win in the same event at the 2019 state meet (58.91), giving her a clean sweep 4-peat in the event.
Weiss was ranked as #4 in SwimSwam’s Top 20 NCAA recruits for the class of 2019, and #4 in the Re-rank of that class as well.

Weiss was the runnerup in the 100 breast (58.78) and the bronze medalist in the 200 breast (2:07.73), while also finishing 19th in the 200 IM (1:59.59) at the Big Ten Championships in Iowa City, Iowa. Weiss also swam on the Hoosiers’ 6th place 400 medley relay.

2018 Jr Pan Pacific Championships
In Suva, Weiss took gold in the 100 breast, clocking a dominating performance of 1:07.55 to win by over .8 and register a new best time. She took a second gold as part of the winning 4×100 medley relay, splitting 1:08.52 on the breaststroke leg.
