Jack Saunderson is a competitive swimmer who represents the United States internationally. Coming out of high school, Saunderson was a junior national qualifier and a Maryland State Long Course champion in the 100 fly. He elected to stay in-state for college and attend Towson University.
College (Towson)
2015-16
Saunderson made an immediate impact at Towson University. At his first CAA Championships, He broke the meet and school record in the 200 fly, winning in a time of 1:45.02. He also finished 3rd in the 100 fly (48.01) and 17th in the 50 free (21.19). Saunderson also contributed to Towson’s runner-up 200 and 400 medley relays, and their 5th place 200 free relay. For his accomplishments, Saunderson was named CAA Rookie of the Year, the first CAA Rookie to ever come from Towson.
2016-17
Saunderson improved greatly over the next year. He won the 100 fly (47.01) and 200 fly (1:43.44) with CAA and meet record times and placed third in the 200 IM (1:49.20) at the CAA Championships. He was also a member of Towson’s runner-up 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay and third place 800 free relay and 400 free relay. Saunderson was tabbed as CAA Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet for his accomplishments. He also became just the 2nd man in Towson’s history to qualify for the NCAA Championships, finishing 16th in the 200 fly (1:43.39) and 43rd in the 100 fly (47.26)
2017-18
Saunderson continued his improvement curve, taking his bests even further in his junior year. He tripled in victories in the 200 IM (1:45.76), 100 fly (45.75) and 200 fly (1:41.69) with conference and meet record times in each event at the CAA Championships, and was part of Towson’s runner-up 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay teams and fourth place 200 free relay and 400 free relay teams. Saunderson was once again tabbed as the CAA Men’s Outstanding Swimmer. Making it back to the NCAA’s, Saunderson placed 10th in the 200 fly (1:40.87), 13th in the 100 fly (45.51) and 46th in the 200 IM (1:48.28).
2018-19
Saunderson saved the best for last in his collegiate career. He repeated his conference titles in the 100 fly (46.53), 200 fly (1:40.63) and 200 IM titles (1:45.46) at the CAA Championships, setting conference and meet records in the 200 fly and 200 IM. Saunderson went on to finish seventh in the 200 fly (1:41.06) at the NCAA Championships, swimming a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) record time (1:40.44) in the prelims to make his first ever “A” final. He also placed 15th in the 100 fly (46.02) and 42nd in the 200 IM (1:44.97).

2018 Summer Nationals
At the 2018 Summer Nats, Saunderson placed 6th in the 50 fly (23.70), 4th in the 100 fly (51.88), and 11th in the 200 fly (1:56.88). With his finish in the 100 fly, Saunderson qualified for the 2019 World University Games in both the 50 and 100 fly.

In Naples, Saunderson registered a 4th place finish in the 100 fly (52.25), 7th in the 50 fly (23.97), and 9th in the 200 fly.
