Colby College Swimming and Diving

2013-2014

In his rookie year, John came in and made an immediate impact. He was a regular dual meet scorer and, despite illness shortening his season, a key member of Mule relays at NESCAC Championships. He awarded the team’s Top Rookie award for his efforts.

2014-2015

John blossomed in his second season on Mayflower Hill. Training in both backstroke and freestyle for the first time, John excelled in an area of need for the team. He was the team’s leading backstroker in the dual meet schedule and carried his success into the season finale. At NESCAC championships, he made finals and scored in both the 50 back and the 100 free. He was also a member of the Mules’ 200 and 400 free relays that set school records and made the podium.

Personal

John swam across the Hudson River when he was eight years old. He is a member of the “Blue Lights”, one of Colby’s premier A Capella groups on campus and the Colby Leadership Academy. He may or not have been voted the team’s best male dancer. The ballots are currently being reviewed for evidence of hanging chads.
