Lindsay Schlichte
Lindsay was born and raised in Garden City, New York. Similar to her sister, she picked up swimming at a young age. Before fully committing to swimming, Lindsay also ran and was a part of the diving team. But she decided to give these up to join the distance lane for good on both her high school and club team. Her senior year of high school, Lindsay tied with her now Duke teammate Brittany Friese in the 500 free to win the event. Lindsay has continued her distance career in her favorite lane 8 at Duke, while staying busy as the team’s recruiting coordinator.
Club
Before arriving at Duke, Lindsay swam for Long Island Aquatic Club under David Ferris. During her time there, she qualified for both Junior and Senior Nationals, and later competed in both meets.
College
2013-2014
Her freshman year at Duke, Lindsay competed in the 200 free, 500 free and the mile at the ACC Championship meet, where she scored for the Blue Devils in both the 500 free and mile.
Personal
Lindsay is currently undeclared, but is completing the pre-medicine program at Duke, with aspirations to attend medical school after college and one day work in pediatric medicine.
