Meredith Oliver
Born in Boston, Mass., Meredith Oliver is a versatile IMer and freestyle specialist. Oliver is currently attending Texas A&M, where she’s been an important asset to the Aggies due to her versatility – she can swim IM and freestyle short to mid-distance. Oliver has improved at a steep rate – she made huge improvements from high school to college, and even from her freshman to sophomore year. She’s an NCAA All-American, and an NCAA individual qualifier. After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Texas Oliver chose to attend A&M because she had loved the team and the university’s traditions. At Robert E. Lee she was an NISCA All-American in the 100, 200 and 500 freestyles and the 200 IM. According to collegeswimming.com Oliver was the no. 92 recruit in the class of 2012. The Accounting & Finance student has already landed an internship with Ingersoll Rand after making it on the Dean’s List, Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and a College Swim Coaches Association All-Academic pick. Oliver made time to train with the Metroplex Aquatics club team, while also being apart of a family with six other siblings.
Texas A&M
2012-2013
As a freshman Oliver competed at the SEC Championships, finishing with NCAA ‘B’ times in all three individual events. She swam the 100 and 200 freestyle, as well as the 200 IM. She was also apart of the fourth-place 800 freestyle relay.
2013-2014
Oliver qualified for the NCAA Championships her sophomore year as an individual. At the SEC Championships she swam on two relays, finishing 10th in the 200 freestyle, and swam in the ‘C’ final of both the 200 IM and the 100 freestyle. She earned All-America honors as a leg of the 800 freestyle relay that finished seventh overall.
2014-2015
Oliver is currently in her junior season as an Aggie. At the SEC Championships she finished 13th in the 200 IM, ninth in the 200 freestyle and 18th in the 100 freestyle. At the NCAA Championships Oliver came in 36th in the 200 freestyle, 50th in the 100 freestyle and 60th in the 200 IM. She also swam the second leg on the 800 freestyle that came in fourth.
National Competition
As a student at Robet E. Lee Oliver was an NISCA All-American in multiple events – she was the Class 5A Region II Swimmer of the Meet four years in a row. She also qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200m IM and 400m IM, and recently raced at the Arena Pro Swim Series, where she put up two qualifying marks in the 100m and 200m freestyle to swim at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials.
