Later that same year, Valente broke the 800 free Brazilian record (SCM), touching at 7:42.79, taking over half a second off of the previous record.
2019 Pan American Games (Lima, Peru)
In Lima, Valente won his 1st international medal, placing 2nd in the 800 free with a personal best of 7:56.37 to earn silver.
