Nick Norman is a competitive swimmer who represents the USA internationally. In high school, Norman represented the US at the 2014 Jr Pan Pacific Championships, where he placed 5th in the 800 free and 9th in the 1500 free. He swam for the Mission Viejo Nadadores under coach Bill Rose. On September 10, 2014, Norman announced his verbal commitment to swim for the University of California, Berkeley.
College
2017-2018
His first 2 season at Cal, Norman made improvements on his best times, landing himself the top times on the team in the 1,000 and 1,650 as well as qualifying for NCAA’s both seasons. His junior year was when he made big drops, however. At the 2018 PAC-12 Championships, Norman earned his first ever conference title by winning the 1,650 in a time of 14:39.77 (his previous collegiate best had been 14:51.89). Just under a month later at NCAA’s, Norman dropped another monster 1,650, this time touching for 3rd overall in a time of 14:30.82, breaking Jeremy Bagshaw’s 4-year-old school record.
2018-2019
Norman continued his success into his senior year, putting up strong dual meet times in the 500-1,650 all year. At the 2019 PAC-12 Championships, Norman started his meet by placing 5th in the 500 free in 4:15.41. He successfully defended his title in the 1,650, touching at 14:33.96, breaking the meet record in the process. At the NCAA’s, Norman once again put up solid numbers, touching for 3rd again in the 1,650 in 14:32.12.

2018 Summer Nationals
At the 2018 Nationals in Irvine, Norman finished 4th in both the 800 (7:54.47) and 1,500 (15:08.81), qualifying him to represent the United States at the 2019 World University Games.
2019 World University Games
In Naples, Norman swam both the 800 and 1500. In the 1500, he scored a bronze by touching 3rd in a time of 15:09.29. To finish the meet, he scored silver in the 800 free in a time of 7:57.95.
