Olivia Carter is a competitive swimmer who represents the United States internationally. She was ranked #9 on SwimSwam’s Top 20 Women Recruits for the class of 2018. On May 22, 2017, Carter announced her intent to swim for the University of Georgia.

At the SEC Championships, Carter won the 200 fly (1:53.23), placed sixth in the 100 fly (52.02) and 11th in the 200 IM (1:55.78). She also was part of the Bulldogs’ fifth place 800 free relay and 400 free relay, seventh place 200 free relay and ninth place 400 medley relay teams. Carter was named as the 2019 SEC Female Freshman Swimmer of the Year after making the finals in two events and swimming on four Top 10 relay teams at the conference meet.
Carter finished seventh in the 200 fly (1:53.06), 12th in the 100 fly (51.77) and 56th in the 200 IM (2:00.35) at the NCAA Championships. She also was part of Georgia’s 11th place 800 free relay, 14th place 200 free relay, 18th place 400 free relay and 24th place 200 medley relay teams.
Following her freshman season, Carter announced that she would be leaving Georgia, initially saying she would take an Olympic red-shirt year and train at her home club. However, she then transferred to Michigan for the spring semester of 2020.
2019-20
Carter made an immediate impact at Michigan during her sophomore campaign. At her first B1G Championships, she placed 9th in the 200 IM (1:56.51), 2nd in the 100 fly (51.67), and took her first B1G title in the 200 fly, breaking the B1G meet record in 1:53.28.

Carter earned a silver medal in the 200 fly at the World University Games in Napoli, Italy, clocking a 2:09.05, behind Georgia & USA teammate Dakota Luther (2:07.92).
