Seth Stubblefield
Seth Stubblefield was born July 21, 1993 in the city of Plano, Texas. Stubblefield is currently in his senior year at the University of California, Berkeley where he specializes in the freestyle and butterfly events. A versatile recruit, Stubblefield has earned both international and national medals and swims multiple events including the 100 and 200 butterfly as well as the 50 and 100 freestyle. He’s a member of the U.S. National Team after taking third in the 100m freestyle at the 2013 U.S. Open. In a heat stacked with Olympic medalists including Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps, Stubblefield made a name for himself. Stubblefield is studying Integrative Biology, and in his senior year he was excited to take Exercise Physiology – a class that he could transfer what he learned, and apply it to his own athletics. He’s also a member of Athletes in Action.

UC Berkeley
2011-2012
At his first NCAA Championships Stubblefield impressed. He finished fifth in the 50 freestyle and he anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay, earning him All-America honors.

2012-2013
At the 2013 NCAA Championshis Stubblefield finaled in two individual events finishing sixth in the 50 freestyle and seventh in the 100. He swam on the 200 medley relay that finished second, but whose time was under the current American Record.

2013-2014
As a junior Stubblefield continued his successful streak. He was a member of the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 medley relay, which both won the national title. He also set Cal’s second-fastest mark in the 50 freestyle, swimming a sub-19 second swim.

2014-2015
Stubblefield is currently in his senior season at Cal.

International Competition
Stubblefield has quite a presence on both the international and U.S. swimming scenes. Prior to swimming for Cal he was a member of the 2010 U.S. National Youth Team after winning both the 100m and 200m butterfly events at the Junior National Championships. At the 2010 Junior Pan Pacific Championships he brought home a silver medal in the 200m butterfly and a gold as a member of the 400m medley relay.

He’s also a member of the U.S. National Team.
