Taylor McKeown

Taylor McKeown was born on March 17th, 1995. She started competitive swimming at the age of nine.

2014 Commonwealth Games

McKeown won gold in 200m breaststroke with a time of 2:22.36, finishing ahead of fellow countryman, Sally Hunter, and Molly Renshaw of England.

2014 Pan Pacific Championships

In the 200m breaststroke, McKeown won a bronze medal with a time of 2:22.89, 0.9 seconds behind silver medal winner, Rie Kaneto of Japan and gold medal winner, Kanak Watanabe also of Japan. In the 100m breaststroke, McKeown swam to a fifth place finish with a time of 1:07.55

2015 FINA World Championships

McKeown battled illness and asthma and did not qualify for a final in an individual event. She did help Australia win a bronze medal as part of the 4x100m medley relay.

2016 Rio Olympics

Mckeown had a personal best morning swim in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:06.73, but only swam a 1:07.15 in the semifinals and finished 11th, not qualifying for the Championship final.

In the 200m breaststroke, McKeown swam a 2:21.69 in the semifinals to qualify first for the finals. In the finals, McKeown again swam a bit slower, finishing fifth with a time of 2:22.43.

Along with teammates, Emily Seebohm, Emma McKeown and Cate Campbell, McKeown earned a silver medal in the4x100m medley relay.

2017 World Championships

In the 200m Breaststroke, McKeown swam a 2:23.06 in the finals to finish seventh. McKeown swam the breaststroke leg of the 4x1o0m medley relay helping Australia win the bronze medal. Teaming with Emily Seebohm, Emma McKeown and Bronte Campbell, Australia finished just behind silver medalists, Russia.
