Viktor Bromer is a butterfly specialist from Aarhus, Denmark. At 23 years old, Bromer made his Olympic debut in Rio where he joined an impressive field in the 200 meter butterfly. He trains under head coach Eyleifur Johannesson at Aalborg Swimming Club in Denmark and is a Team Arena swimmer.
International Career
2014 European Championships
At the championships in Berlin, Germany Bromer won the 200 meter butterfly in 1:55.29 to claim his first international gold medal. He progressed through the heats and semi-final seeded first.

2015 FINA World Championships
At the World Championships in Kazan, Russia Bromer made the final of his specialty 200 meter butterfly. He finished fifth in 1:54.66.
2016 European Championships
In London, Bromer wasn’t able to defend his European title and finished with a silver, sandwiched between Hungarian swimmers Laszlo Cseh who took gold and Tamas Kenderesi who took the bronze. He also swam the 100 meter butterfly, finishing eighth in the final.
2016 Rio Olympic Games
In his Olympic debut, Bromer made it to the final of his only event, the 200 meter butterfly. In a tough field including Michael Phelps, Chad le Clos and Cseh, Bromer finished sixth in 1:55.64. The time was slightly more than a second slower than his best.
2017 World Championships
In Budapest, Bromer finished 7th in the 200 meter butterfly in 1:55.30.
