17 year old Tobias B Bjerg set new Danish national records in both the short course 50 and 100 breaststroke at the Danish Western Short Course Championships.
Bjerg broke both the junior and senior records in the 50 breaststroke winning the event in a time of 27.82. He broke the senior record of 27.88 set by Mathias Anderson in 2009.
He also won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:00.15 beating the previous junior record of 1:00.48 set by Morten Klarskovs in 2009.
His best times in the events before this weekend were a 28.01 in the 50 and a 1:00.60 in the 100.
This is a continuation of the success that Bjerg saw this summer collecting a bronze in the 50 breaststroke at the European Junior Championships in Baku.
Bjerg also won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:16.01 and the 50 freestyle in a time of 23.02.
Line Bruun collected four gold in the women’s 200 (2:00.56) and 400 freestyle (4:13.84) and the 200 (2:16.91) and 400 IM (4:52.06)
Other multiple winners at the Western Championships included:
- Nicolas Blanch – 200 IM (2:04.21) and 400 freestyle (3:57.28)
- Sebastian Strandberg – 50 (26.75) and 100 backstroke (57.97) and the 200 butterfly
- Matilde Schroeder– 50 (32.07) and 100 breaststroke (1:10.16)
- Emily Gantriis – 50 (26.00) and 100 freestyle (56.26)

The big winner at the Eastern Short Course Championships was Chris Christensen who took gold in the 50 (29.07), 100 (1:01.42) and 200 breaststroke (2:14.15) as well as the 200 (2:04.93) and 400 IM (4:19.32).
One of the country’s top swimmers made an appearence in the 200 IM. Rikke Moller Pedersen took the event in a time of 2:14.02.
