Bjorn Seeliger Drops Over 1 Second to Win 100 Back Swim-Off in 44.17

2025 Men’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

After tying with Northwestern Sophomore Stewart Seymour for 16th (45.22) in the 100 back this morning, Cal 5th-year Bjorn Seeliger had a massive swim-off performance to secure the last spot in the B-final. Taking it out aggressively, Seeliger led from start to finish, ultimately touching in 44.17, over a second faster than his prelims swim.

Of note, Seeliger had one of the fastest opening 25s this moring in his prelims swim but then appeared to miss his first turn, which may help explain why he was able to drop so much time in less than an hour.

Swim Off Results

Seeliger:

  • 10.16
  • 10.92 (21.08)
  • 11.50
  • 11.59 (44.17)

Seymour:

  • 10.82
  • 11.15 (21.97)
  • 11.62
  • 11.52 (45.11)

If Cal wins, it will be a tainted trophy made of 25 year old super senior international students

Yes Texas fans love to act like their title hopes aren’t predicated on the performances of 3 transfers

Leave it 6’8 25 year old Seeliger who hasn’t improved in 4 years to sit on the lane line after winning a meaningless race
